Dr. Suecof hails from New York City. He grew up in the southwest Bronx and graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School in Brooklyn, New York. He underwent his pre-medical requirements at the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy in Brooklyn, New York. In 1975 he entered the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, which is now the Temple University School of Podiatric medicine, which is now part of the Temple University School of Medicine and Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pa.
He received his Degree in Podiatric Medicine (DPM) in 1979. He then went on to complete a Podiatric Medical and Surgical Residency at the Lutheran Hospital of Maryland and University of Maryland School of Medicine Hospitals in Baltimore, Maryland, which he completed in 1981. He then went on to complete a fellowship in lower extremity limb salvage at the New England Deaconess Hospital and Joslin Clinic in Boston, Mass.
Dr Suecof did full-time practice at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. He became Chief of the department of Podiatric Surgery in 1987, a position which he held until 2008. During this period of time he also became an Associate Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Connecticut Medical School/John Dempsey Hospital.
In the years 2000 through 2003, Dr Suecof took additional fellowship training in general medicine and surgery at the University of Antigua Medical school, with additional clinical rotations at Hartford Hospital and then went on to an Infectious Disease fellowship with emphasis on lower extremity pathology at Hartford Hospital in 2007.
He is board certified in foot and ankle surgery by the American board of Foot and Ankle Surgery as well as being a board certified Wound Management Specialist, CWS by the American board of Wound Management (ABWM). He is a fellow of the American College of Certified Wound Specialists, and a member of both the Florida Podiatric Medical Association and the American Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr Suecof practiced in Connecticut from 1982-2008 and then opened his office in Mount Dora from 2008-2010. He developed and started the inpatient limb salvage program at Florida Hospital, Orlando in 2009 and practiced there full time from mid 2009-2013.
Dr Suecof returned to full time practice in 2014 at Mount Dora Podiatry and is on active staff at Florida Hospital Waterman as well as Florida Hospital in Orlando and Altamonte.
His wife Sharon is a Certified OR nurse and together they have 3 children and 1 beautiful granddaughter.
